The Keewatin Curling Club has been selected one of 20 clubs across the province to be awarded as a host for the Great Ontario Bonspiel that will be happening on Saturday, November 18, 2017. The Great Ontario Bonspiel is to celebrate Ontario turning 150 years young, the sport of curling, and the area's own Keewatin Curling Club through it's history.
the Keewatin Curling Club will have a total of 150 ends curled on that day. Starting at 9am and including traditional 4-person team curling, as well as different formats like doubles curling and stick curling, the 150 ends pitting the blue team against the yellow team will be completed around 10pm where the prizes will be awarded and the festivities of the day will come to a close.
For only $10 for members and $15 for non-members to participate, you can curl as much or as little as you would like during the times that fit your schedule. There is a large sign-up sheet at the Keewatin Curling Club for you to fill in when you would like to curl, as an individual or as part of a team.
There are some great prizes to be won such as gift cards, Northern Ontario Curling swag, and even a replica of a curling rock to commemorate the event.
