Kenora OPP Continue Search For Suspect Involved In An Assault

The Kenora OPP are still looking for a suspect involved in a serious assault.

This morning police received reports of an injured male after an altercation at a residence in the Minto area.

The male suspect fled on foot and police are continuing to look for him.

The victim of the assault was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

OPP say the victim and suspect were known to each other.

Several schools in the area were placed in hold and secure as a precautionary measure.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, around 5 foot 11, 180 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.

He was last seen without a shirt, wearing black pants and he has a tattoo on the upper right side of his face.

Although the assault is believed to be an isolated event, the suspect is still considered a risk to public safety.
