The federal government is pumping more money into water treatment projects on local first nations.

Almost 2.6 million dollars is being targeted at 38 communities in the Kenora Riding, with the provincial government chipping in another 1.3 million.

The Wabaseemoong First Nation is getting almost 140 thousand dollars to rehabilitate their water treatment plant.

The Dalles, Shoal Lake #39 and #40, Washagamis Bay and Whitefish Bay are also receiving money for upgrades to their drinking water systems.

The money comes from the Clean Water Wastewater Fund for First Nations.
