Confederation College has released an open letter to it's striking staff in advance of a vote this week on the latest contract offer.
President Jim Madder agrees that academic freedom seems to be the sticking point to an agreement with their faculty.
However, he disagrees that the issue of academic freedom is an us or them proposition.
Instead he says the college will continue to consult with faculty, but at the same time it has to remain compliant with provincial standards.
Faculty are scheduled to vote on the last contract offer starting tomorrow morning, and wrapping up Thursday morning.
The strike is entering it's 5th week.
